Uniform Policy

PS/MS 31 is a uniform school. Students are required to be in full uniform each day. Any students found not to be in uniform will receive a phone call home and be required to wear a PS/MS 31 loaner uniform for the day. The PS/MS 31 Uniform includes the following items:

PS/MS 31 Uniform Requirements

Item	Requirements
Shirt/Top	Elementary – Burgundy collared shirt with PS/MS 31 logo. Middle School – Black collared shirt with PS/MS 31 logo. Students will be given opportunities to wear other uniform shirts (different colors, specialized logos) distributed to them based on incentives and other school initiatives.
Cardigans/Sweatshirts	Students are allowed to wear the PS/MS 31 cardigans. Students are no longer allowed to wear the PS/MS 31 hoodies.
Pants/Bottom	Navy blue/black khaki pants (no shorts): Must have belt loops Must be worn at waist level No visible logos, patchwork, or rips/frayed detail No holes No spandex Solid black or brown belt only (no studs or designs)
Skirts	Solid Navy-blue/black skirts only (no patterns) Must be to knee length No slits above fingertip length
Socks/Shoes	Socks must be worn at all times Sneakers must have shoelaces No flip flops, slippers, slip-ons or slides allowed (including Crocs)
Accessories	Headwear No hats, sweatbands, or head coverings/scarves (unless for cultural/religious reasons) No headbands, large trinkets on hair Other jewelry: Necklaces must be small enough to be tucked into the uniform shirt during PE and elective clubs. Permanent/Non-Permanent Tattoos: No designs of any kind on the face or body.
Outerwear	Students can wear any outdoor clothing of their choosing (rain boots, snow boots, scarves, sweater) to school.
