Principal's Message

Dear PS/MS 31 Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! On behalf of our entire staff at P.S./M.S. 031 The William Lloyd Garrison, I am thrilled to open our doors once again for a year full of learning, growth, and community.

Our motto remains our guide: every lesson is an experience. This year, we continue to build on our vision of providing innovative opportunities for academics and personal growth through collaborative learning, and our mission to engage students in relevant educational experiences that foster leadership qualities in every scholar, from our youngest 3K learners to our graduating 8th graders. We will keep our GOALS, GROWTH, GREATNESS framework at the center of our work. Every student will set goals based on their assessment data, track their growth throughout the year, and celebrate their greatness along the way. Families can look forward to workshops throughout the year where you'll have the chance to review your child's goals folder and see firsthand the progress they're making. Our five core values, creativity and innovation, collaboration, critical thinking, character, and cultural proficiency, shape everything we do, from the classroom to the hallways to our afterschool programs. We are committed to creating a school community where every scholar feels supported, challenged, and proud of who they are.

I encourage all families to stay connected this year: follow us on Facebook, download our school app, and reach out anytime through our staff directory. Our doors, and my door, are always open.

Here's to a wonderful year of learning together.

With gratitude,

Ms. K. Yesnick, Principal
